Our Team-Building Day at Renaissance Golf Club

Our whole team recently took a break from the office and headed to the stunning Renaissance Golf Club for a day dedicated to team bonding, self-discovery, and a little bit of fun!

The goal was simple: help us become an even more effective and cohesive team to provide our customers with the best possible experience!

A Unique Approach to Teamwork

We kicked off the day with a full tour of The Renaissance Club, taking in the incredible facilities and hospitality that make it such a prestigious venue. Needless to say, all of us want to come back!

After that, we got stuck into an engaging TetraMap session with Nicki Davey from Saltbox Training and Events.

TetraMap is an interactive and metaphorical tool designed to help teams understand different personality types through four natural elements:

● 🌍 Earth – Structured, practical, and results-driven

● 💨 Air – Logical, analytical, and strategic

● 🌊 Water – Compassionate, supportive, and relationship-focused

● 🔥 Fire – Energetic, creative, and spontaneous

To get us warmed up we used photograph cards of animals and nature, selecting images that best represented us both at home and at work. It was fascinating to see how our choices reflected our unique styles and how we bring different strengths to the team.

We then moved on to self-assessment questionnaires, which helped us identify our dominant elements. In small groups based on our personality types, we worked together to create and present insights on our characteristics, what motivates us, how we like to communicate, and — perhaps most importantly — what NOT to do when working with us!

What We Learned

The session was a fantastic opportunity to step back and reflect on how we interact as a team. It gave us a greater appreciation of each other’s strengths, helping us understand why some of us thrive on structure while others prefer spontaneity, or why some focus on relationships while others are more task-oriented.

Most importantly, it reinforced the idea that great teams aren’t built on similarity but on complementary skills and perspectives. By understanding each other better, we can collaborate more effectively, resolve challenges faster, and create an even stronger foundation for success.

Overall, we walked away not just with new insights into our team dynamics but also with a renewed sense of camaraderie—and plenty of laughter along the way!
